Professionalism

“Professionalism’ is commonly understood as an individual’s adherence to a set of standards, code of conduct or collection of qualities that characterize accepted practice within a particular area of activity”. “Professional is not a label you give yourself - it's a description you hope others will apply to you.” Professionalism involves consistently achieving high standards, both visibly and "behind the scenes" – whatever your role or profession. Some sectors, workplaces, or roles have particular "rules" of professionalism. These may be explicit, such as an agreed dress code, or a policy for using social media.
