The 4-year Bachelor of Studies in English (BS English) program prepares students to become proficient readers, writers, and critical thinkers equipped to thrive in a rapidly changing world.

The mission of the program is to give students a thorough understanding of multidimensional facets of English language and literature by developing their linguistic and literary sensibility, that will enable them to think critically about language and literature; the ultimate goal is to provide the students with high-quality professional skills.
Objectives of the Program:
The core and general objectives of the Bachelor of Studies in English (BS English) program are to:1) Possess the capacity to read and comprehend intricate literary texts;
2) Be able to comprehend the most recent developments in English linguistics/language and literature research trends and practices;
3) Be able to decipher the linguistic structures and narrative codes upon which the texts have been based;
4) Be able to compose extensive descriptive and analytical manuscripts;
5) Have the ability to comprehend and produce written and spoken analyses of literary texts using academic jargon and critical thinking;
6) Possess the ability to understand the relationship between texts and contexts; and
7) Have familiarity with the most recent research in English linguistics/language and literature.
Program Learning Outcomes
By the completion of the program, graduates will be able to:
• Develop all-around English linguistics/language and literature skills to thrive in a highly competitive job market;
• Explore new career paths such as public speaking, professional blog writing, computer-assisted language systems, film and screen media, and manuscript translation;
• Apply interdisciplinary approaches to critically examine texts, discourse, and language use across historical, cultural, and technological contexts;
• Integrate emerging technologies including AI and media technologies in the study and application of English studies; and
• Exhibit themselves as responsible citizens who are more aware of their position and role.
Admission Criteria:
• For students who have passed F.A / F.Sc, I.Com or *equivalent in Annual system:
- Minimum 45% marks in F.A / F.Sc, I.Com or *equivalent
- Minimum 45% marks in English compulsory subject
• For students who have passed F.A / F.Sc, I.Com or *equivalent in Semester system:
- Minimum 60% marks in F.A / F.Sc, I.Com or *equivalent
- Minimum 45% marks in English compulsory subject
• For A-Level Students:
- IBCC Equivalence Certificate (Minimum 60% Marks)
- Minimum 'B' Grade in English Language (Compulsory) in O-Levels
• Extra Credit: 5 bonus points for candidates with 50%+ in English Literature (Elective) in Intermediate / 60%+ in A-Levels.
