Rashid Latif Khan University Launches First Program Review for Effectiveness and Enhancement (PREE) Under PSG 2023
The Office of the Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC), under the leadership of Mr. Ali Raza Qureshi, Director QEC and Additional Registrar, has successfully initiated the first Program Review for Effectiveness and Enhancement (PREE) in alignment with the new Program Self-Assessment Guidelines (PSG) 2023 issued by the Higher Education Commission (HEC). This milestone marks a significant step forward in institutional commitment to quality assurance and academic excellence at Rashid Latif Khan University (RLKU), Lahore. As part of this initiative, eight academic programs were selected from various faculties based on the HEC's target criteria outlined for the Yearly Progress Report (YPR) 2024-25. The Institutional Quality Circle (IQC) convened to nominate Program Teams responsible for conducting self-assessments. During this meeting, Mr. Qureshi emphasized the importance of PREE in fostering continuous improvement and institutional effectiveness. To ensure a robust and unbiased evaluation, subject specialists were invited as external members, collectively termed as the Assessment Team (AT). These external reviewers conducted comprehensive assessments of the selected programs using the newly developed PREE framework and rubrics. The evaluation process focused on identifying strengths, highlighting best practices, and uncovering areas needing improvement. Each program review concluded with an Exit Meeting between the Assessment Team and the Pro-Vice Chancellor, where findings were shared and discussed in detail. Notably, the Exit Meeting for the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program was held at RLKU Campus 2, where Madam Sabahat Khan acknowledged and appreciated the university's efforts in enhancing academic quality and ensuring equitable access to quality education. This initiative reflects RLKU’s strategic commitment to aligning with national quality standards and fostering a culture of academic excellence through transparent and continuous program evaluations.
